Betting on the results of horse racing is a popular pursuit, with the Grand
National being among the biggest draws in terms of the number of bets placed
on the outcome of this single prestigious event. The popularity of horse
betting can be attributed to many factors, it adds to the excitement of
watching the race, there are a large number of races on which to place your
bet and there is a certain amount of skill involved in assessing the form
of the horses and judging which ones are most likely to achieve the win.
Horse Betting:
Studying the form of the horses and jockeys, and knowing what conditions
favour different horses is for many people all part of the fun of horse
racing and horse betting. Even if you do not follow horse racing that closely,
you can still enjoy betting on a particular horse – even if you only
choose it because you like its name, as many people do when betting on the
Grand National. If you know your stuff and are willing to risk a large bet
it is possible to win big – in 2003 a single bet saw a payout of £393,000.
